DIY Decorative Glass

  1. Clean both sides of glass using Amy Howard at Home Clean Slate to remove any unwanted spots that might affect the composition of the finish.
  2. Rinse with water
  3. Wipe dry.
  4. Mist water onto glass. Allow the water to reticulate, rather than build up into large puddles. If water continues to puddle, lightly shake glass, allowing water pools to spread out in an organic fashion.
  5. After squirting the water onto the glass, apply one coat of the Belize Lacquer. *The lacquer will sit on top of the glass and the areas where water droplets were created.
  6. Lightly lay down a paper towel on top of glass. The water droplets will have lacquer on top of them, which will be absorbed into the paper towel and removed from the glass. is will create an organic composition of glass/clear spots. Let the coat of lacquer dry completely before moving on to next step.
  7. Secure stencil to the lacquered side of glass.
  8. Once the stencil is adhered, spray High Performance Furniture Lacquer in Citron. Allow piece to dry. *This second layer of color helps to create depth and visual interest.
  9. Remove the stencil from the glass.
  10. Remove Stencil
  11. Spray High Performance Furniture Lacquer in La Grange.
  12. Allow piece to dry.
  13. Now you get to “Enjoy the Bragging Rights!”
