We found this gorgeous “grandma’s table” that needed to be showcased but it had some chipping and water stains on the top. A layer of paint and some love is all it needed to bring it back to life and allow it to be a part of the family again!
For this project we used:
- Amy Howard at Home® One Step Paint™
- Amy Howard at Home® Clean Slate™
- Clean lint-free rags
- Amy Howard at Home® Flat Paint Brush
- Amy Howard at Home ® Furniture Tonic
- Amy Howard at Home ® Mind your own Beeswax
- Painter’s tape
- 1000 Grit Sandpaper
- 400 Grit Sandpaper
STEP 1:
Use 400 grit sandpaper on any chipped or rough edges before starting. Clean the wood with Amy Howard at Home® Clean Slate™ and a clean lint-free rag. Let fully dry.
STEP 2:
Use painters tape to tape off areas that you do not want painted, here we chose to leave the legs unpainted for some contrast.
STEP 3:
STEP 4:
STEP 5:
Apply the Amy Howard at Home Furniture Tonic to a lint free cotton rag and rub a thin layer over the unpainted wooden areas to bring the wood back to life.
STEP 6:
Now apply a thin coat of Amy Howard at Home ® Mind your own Beeswax to the entire surface of your painted project using a clean lint-free cotton rag. Allow 15-20 minutes to come to tack, then buff with a clean lint-free rag.
