Create A Faux Woodgrain Look On Any Surface!

Happy early 4th of July, and happy Finish Friday! Today we are making a faux woodgrain finish. You can use this on ANY surface! Follow along for a few ideas on how YOU can use our Woodgrain Mesh Stencil. 

Try this technique on walls, floors, furniture, lampshades, and more!

Shop What I Used:

Black One Step Paint

Synthetic brush

HOW TO
Step 1: Start With A Regular Board And Paint With One Step Paint
Use a synthetic brush and apply one coat of paint. After an hour, apply another coat.
Step 2: Apply Woodgrain Stencil On Top Of Surface
You will have to take the backing off of the stencil. Lay adhesive side down on surface.
Step 3: Dip Your Squeegee In Gel Ink
Step 4: Apply Gel Ink To Surface
Make sure ink goes with the grain.
Step 5: Remove Stencil
Step 6: Let Surface Dry
Step 7: Apply Cerusing Wax With Hog Hair Brush
Be sure to offload your brush before applying the wax.
Step 8: Apply Wax To Surface
Step 9: *Optional* Buff Surface With Rag
