APPLYING HIGH PERFORMANCE FURNITURE LACQUER

When we found this dresser it was in desperate need of some love! With a few coats of High Performance Lacquer, this piece was completely transformed and had been given new life!

For this tutorial you will need:

• A piece of furniture or trim

• Sand paper

• Tack cloth

• Amy Howard at Home Clean Slate

• Amy Howard at Home High Performance Furniture Lacquer

• Amy Howard at Home High Performance Furniture Lacquer Primer

STEP 1:

Clean the surface of your piece with Amy Howard at Home Clean Slate.

STEP 2:

Apply Amy Howard at Home Furniture Lacquer Primer.

STEP 3:

Sand any puddled or uneven areas on the surface. Remember to make sure to wipe off any excess primer with a tack cloth.

STEP 4:

Apply the lacquer in thin even coats.

STEP 5:

Sand any puddled or uneven areas on your surface. Remember to wipe well with tack cloth.

STEP 6:

For your second coat, apply your lacquer in thin and even coats. Allow the lacquer to dry for at least 30 minutes. It generally takes three days to properly cure.
